The Bell 205, or UH-1H as the military call it, is a machine directly derived from Model 204 (UH-1), but with a much longer fuselage and a more powerful turbine engine. These two modifications proved to be so useful that over 5000 units were built. The production version of the UH-1H was introduced in 1967. Bell also sold a civilian version as Model 205.
Over the years, Bell made a lot of improvements to the machine, leading to many versions of Model 205. The UH-1H, or Huey, is well-known to a wider public due to its important role during the Vietnam War.
