Heli Air Design (HAD) is a new French manufacturer of a two-seater, very light helicopter in the experimental class. HAD is a spin-off of the French company Serolor. The machine is modern-looking and answers to the name 'Helineo'. It comes in two versions: a kit-build machine equipped with a Solar T62T-32 turboshaft engine, and a certified (the European EASA CS-27 specifications for small rotorcraft) version that uses the Mistral G200 rotary engine. What makes the Helineo kit unique is the fact that it uses a turbine engine in combination with a three-bladed rotor system. This combination looks promising in the marketplace for kit-build machines, which is dominated by two-bladed helicopters. At the time of writing (2014), the Helineo is still in the prototype phase.
