The Quest AVQ is a proposed light twin engine helicopter made by Quest Helicopters of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The Quest was intended to be the Gulf region’s first locally produced helicopter. Plans to produce the Quest were officially shelved in 2013 after Quest chose to focus on the opportunity to become the official distributers of MD Helicopters in the region. Originally Dubbed “Project Q,” the QUEST AVQ series will be the first civil helicopters to be assembled and manufactured in Umm Al Quwain in the UAE should Quest decide to continue the project. The AVQ is a four-seat model, or rather the initial base model was presented as such. The sole full-sized mockup was shown off with a VIP interior designed by British company Design Q and the mockup also has an actual production prototype capsule. The projected price of the AVQ is 2.9 million US Dollars, which is considered highly competitive in the VIP transport segment. Production goals for the first and second years are 20 units and 40 units respectively. Considering the number of wealthy VIPs who call the UAE home, there is presumably no lack of demand for a helicopter of this type, should it ever complete development and enter production.
