Top 10 Most Expensive Helicopters

The list of the most expensive helicopters tells us something that everyone knows: helicopters are really expensive. Some of them have extraordinary price tags, but number one on the list (the Eurocopter Tiger) is unexpected. The reality is that the very high price of this machine is directly related to the low numbers sold. The Bell Boeing Osprey tiltrotor (number two), meanwhile, tells the story of the very complicated tiltrotor concept which took years (almost 20) of development to get a production-ready machine. Most of the rotorcrafts in this list are of US origin, with not a single Russian model making an appearance, partly because Russian technology seems to be less expensive than that of its Western counterparts.
